Rajathandhiram Review :-

Rajathandhiram Review :-

Plot :-

Arjun (Veera) & his two friends are con artists who do small cheating works for their everyday living, one day they risk their lives for a major
heist in which their target disappears and they also end up getting stuck in another heist plot unintentionally, how the gang escapes forms the rest of the story.

Performances :-

Veera as Arjun - After getting decent reviews for his role psychotic role in Nadunisi Naaygal, Veera has given a warm performance as Arjun, his character though initially looks dumb will turn to be a surprising one as the film progresses.
Regina Casandra as Michelle D'Mello - She is fine as the daughter who struggles to pay back her Father's loan dues, and her character though doesn't really have any important role in crucial scenes, still plays a powerful role in reshaping the lead character Arjun's motives & ethics.
Darbuka Ravi as Austin D'Costa - Provides some comic relief in the film.
Pattiyal K. Shekar as Azhagapan - He is the main villain of sorts, his character's dialogues & static expressions are enough to prove that he is a silent killer If his potential is under estimated by his enemies.
Others like Aadukalam Naren are decent, while for Ilavarasu, this is a refreshing role after appearing in several underwhelming typecast roles.

Technicalities :-

Cinematography by Kathir - His camera work is decent in day light, while his lighting with unusual use of blurring and torch lights, stands out as one of the best in recent times.
Editing by Praveen Antony - There is not a single scene in the film that feels dragged, though few scenes may feel like that in 1st half, its a essential part of the script as it provides detailing for the racy heist in the 2nd half.
GV Prakash has composed neat one song in the film, while Sandeep Chowta's BGM is classy.

Screenplay & Direction by A.G.Amid :-

Amid is a great find for Tamil Cinema, unlike most debut directors who fail in major aspects, Amid proves to be what a P.Ramesh (Thegidi Director ) was for Tamil film Industry last year, a very rare director who could blend a unique unusual story line & commercial elements, the film has appeal in all centers and probably this is the best film among Today's 9 Tamil releases.
With a passable 1st half , he comes up with a racy 2nd half that is good enough to keep the audience entertained till the end.
Plus :-
Screenplay
Dark Humor
Twists
Cinematography
Editing
Minus :-
Few logic loopholes
Ending.
The Final Word : Rajathandhiram is a film to be watched for its unusual concept and screenplay backed up by matured technicalities.
Rating : 7.5/10
