Nivin was already popular among girls in TN because of Neram's success. After knowing that English subtitles enabled Tamil people to watch Malayalam films in theaters, the distributor of Bangalore Days released the film with subtitles from the first day itself. As it was a Multistarrer, Bangalore Days had a record opening of 17 Lakhs in TN. And later on the film had a steady run in theaters and became the highest grossing Malayalam in TN (1.2 crores) . Starting from Oru Vadakkan Selfie to the recent Jacobinte Swargarajyam, all films that starred Nivin did very well in TN . And I guess there is no need for me to describe Premam's phenomenal success.
