Interstellar Review:-

Plot:-
As life on earth is coming to an end, a team of Astronauts lead by Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) travel beyond
their Solar System & Galaxy to find a new planet for Humans to live.

Performances:-

Matthew McConaughey as Cooper - Whether its an AIDS patient or an astronaut give him any role he can do it with ease, Matthew proved again why he is best and his out of box performance as Cooper is enough to put him in contention for another shot at the Oscars.

Anne Hathaway as Amelia Brand - Without a shadow of a doubt this is her best performance till date, right from the start till the end she does complete justice to her role.

David Gyasi as Romilly - His performance is very nice and that's all its him.

Bill Irvin as The Voice of the Robot TARS - Given that the robot is meant to help the crew overcome every serious obstacle in space and also provide humor, Bill gives the best possible voice he could give to TARS.

Josh Stewart as The Voice of the Robot CASE - Well I guess I can cut this short, this Robot talks less and only does when there is a need to, Josh's voice is adequate.

Technicalities:-

Cinematography by Hoyte Van Hoytema - He has put adequate effort to make his camera work a grand spectacle and output was nice but it could have been better.

Editing by Lee Smith - The 2nd hour of the film drags a little in the beginning but excluding that particular fault, its as good.

Production Design by Nathan Crowley - Nathan has designed one of the best ever space visuals, its a treat to watch them in IMAX.

Special Effects by Double Negative - They have set a new trend with no use of green screens, in the era of where we have dozen of films with overuse of CG every year, this company has produced one of most realistic fictional space phenomenon with digital projectors.

Music Direction - Probably Hans Zimmer has given his best ever soundtrack especially the ones with electronic keyboards takes us right through the space.

Screenplay - The Nolan Brothers:-
Christopher Nolan said interstellar is his most ambitious yet, he and his brother Jonathan under the guidance of the legendary Kep Thorne managed to keep the film logically and scientifically accurate but film loses pace at sentiment scenes because of frequent usage of scientific terms, that's the only problem with the script but still this minor flaw may leave the audience with mixed feelings after they leave the theaters as it digs in deep into sensitive emotions in that most complex way ever.

Direction - Christopher Nolan:-
Overall Nolan's pet project has a few flaws in the script but arguably this is his best directional offering since Inception.

Plus:-
Matthew McConaughey's performance
Production design
Special Effects
Dialogues
Music Direction
Screenplay

Minus:-
Minor flaws in sentimental scenes
Could have been handled in a better way

The Final Word:Interstellar may not be as great as Inception but its still a classic film that would be remembered for years to come.

Rating:8.25/10
