Batman vs Superman : The Dawn of Justice

PLOT :-

When things get out of control, trust issues crop up and misinterpretation starts a cold war between Batman & Superman who got their own reasons to fight. In between this, there is the deadly Lex Luthor having his own plans for a massive destruction.
PERFORMANCES :-

The best thing in the film is got to be the controversial casting that has actually worked. Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman gave their best and their performances are the highlight of the film. That by itself is a relief and even Jesser Eisenberg was fine playing Lex Luthor.

TECHNICALITIES :-

The stunts and VFX as usual end up as reasons for a must watch experience in theaters, especially choreographing the fight sequence between Batman & Superman was probably the most difficult part of the film and they got the output right without making it look cartoonish. What is still bothering me however is "Why did the film cost $250 Million to produce", frankly speaking it didn't feel like it was worth investing that much.

SCRIPT & DIRECTION :-

The film's one liner is exceptionally strong but what happened here is a fishy case of "Lost in Transition". Somewhere between moving the plot in the right way and highlighting the feud between Batman & Superman, Chris Terrio (Won an Oscar for Best Screenplay in Argo) has apparently lost focus on the plot such that we as audience find it difficult to engage ourselves and sit through. Thus scenes are over written, the sound mixing is loud but yet still it feels incomplete and sometimes makes us feel tired as the pattern gets repetitive .

And Director Zack Snyder whose work in Man of Steel evoked mixed response has tried to imitate Christopher Nolan's style of film making. Unfortunately helming a film with dark undertones and uneasy atmosphere alone isn't good enough. Christopher Nolan's films had strong characterizations, they are serious, they are  thought provoking, they are gripping and we could feel the intensity of each scene in theaters. Zack Snyder made it dark but the script lacked all the other good things a Nolan kind of film should have. Thus this repeatedly gives us a feel of watching a disturbing serial killer movie on a rainy night.

THUMBS UP :-

Ben Affleck & Gal Gadot
Few good quotes and scenes
VFX
Editing
Cinematography

THUMBS DOWN :-

Direction
Overwritten script
Superman deserved something much better than this.

Overall : Its a treat for those who grew up watching Batman, Superman comics. For others, except for a few good moments & VFX, there is nothing much worthy for a you people, kinda disappointment for u all.
Rating : 7/10
